Purpose of the Role:
The role of Quality within McLaren Racing is key to the continued production and development of reliable race winning Formula 1 cars. As the Quality Control Technician, you'll be supporting the machine shops to provide comprehensive inspections of 'first off’s', ensuring right first time. You will be conducting geometrical inspections of newly manufactured metallic and composite components, and be using both traditional metrology tools (micrometers, digital callipers, height gauges, etc.) and digital equipment (CMM, VMM, Scanning equipment, Faro, etc.)
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- A fully indentured engineering background in precision engineering or similar industry
- Experience working within an Inspection department using modern and conventional technology working on precision components is essential
- Experience using PCDMIS, Dassault Systemes, VXelements, Faro/Power Inspect would be an advantage
- Knowledge of GD&T required
- Fully computer literate, including use of an MRP system
