Partner Operations Specialist

Purpose of the Role

  • Take responsibility for the planning and delivery of critical partner operational activities that support both department and business objectives.
  • Project planning and logistics of our Executive Engagement and Strategic Events calendar to maximise B2B outcomes for partners.

Role Dimensions

  • Reports to Director of Partnerships and Associate Director, Commercial Strategic Projects.
  • In place to support the integration and delivery of core activities across the partnership team and wider McLaren Racing ecosystem to reinforce our high-performance team culture.
  • This role is primarily UK based at the McLaren Technology Centre, with the opportunity to travel around key events to support the delivery of global events and consequently flexibility in working hours will be required.

Principal Responsibilities

B2B Executive Engagement (APEX)

  • Lead the planning and delivery of McLaren APEX events in conjunction with the DP World account team, agency partners, internal, external & VIP events teams.
  • Lead the planning, setup and tracking of key B2B introductions across our partner ecosystem (Usage of Salesforce is a must).
  • Support the delivery of the Strategic Events & Networking calendar which includes owned, attended and supported events.
  • Lead and deliver our virtual race debrief and virtual driver calls alongside partner Webex.

CRM

  • In conjunction with the Senior Specialist, Business Development support the planning, management and delivery of key CRM activities/engagements via Salesforce.
  • Create a monthly CRM target list, working with Commercial EA’s to arrange engagement calls/meetings and follow up notes.

Partner & Strategic Events

  • Improve our presence at Partner Conferences and Partner HQ’s, targeting those where we can derive most value (Eg. CES, Davos, MWC, Cannes Lions, SXSW, COP).
  • Increase Executive exposure through a Car Loan & Showcar programme.
  • Communication and cross functional planning across the business to ensure that all requirements are met for each event type.
  • P&L management: Setting and tracking spend to budget for each event and annual plan as a whole.

Gifting Plan

  • Coordinate the gifting plan across all series partners and CRM lists to develop, deliver and manage the annual gifting plan, budget and distribution of items in conjunction with the licensing team.
  • Responsible for ad-hoc Executive gifting both at the MTC and at external events/engagements
  • Lead the cross-departmental VIK allocation to support our gifting strategy

B2B Merchandise

  • Work with the Senior Manager, B2B Merchandise to plan and execute the annual B2B sales strategy into our partner ecosystem.
  • Work proactively on a plan to derive greater value and incremental revenue from our partners.

Cross series partnership collaboration

  • Support the Associate Director, Commercial Strategic Projects, to ensure series partnership teams are aligned in key area of governance and process.

Race Planning

  • Responsible for key race planning deadlines and submission dates that include but not limited to Paddock Club tickets, FOM passes, Driver & Management requests.
  • Work with each Race Lead to support and ensure cross-departmental information is being included in the necessary race planning documentation in a timely fashion.

Internal Partner Engagement

  • Responsible for the planning, delivery and evolution of the Internal Partner Engagement Plan on a monthly basis in conjunction with the Licensing & Brand teams.

McLaren Automotive

  • Support Associate Director, Commercial Strategic Projects in the day-to-day management and running of the MRL x MAL partnership, ensuring mutual value is being achieved through clear objectives and ways of working – specifically the MRL x MAL WEC programme, including but not limited to partner announcements, rights management, delivery and reporting.
  • Support the management of the MRL fleet (X2 UK & x2 EU cars) to ensure being used and leveraged by MRL & Partners to deliver value to all parties.
  • Where required, support the Pirelli Hot Laps programme.

Briefing & Reporting

  • Lead the briefing process in the lead up to B2B strategic events to ensure all necessary information around partner engagement is included like: Business profiles & Exec bios.
  • Support the Heads of Partnership members with the compilation of cross-department updates for inclusion in key executive reports.
  • Responsible for the quarterly compilation, creation and distribution of McLaren’s partner newsletter: Speedmark

Account Management

  • Support the transition to a fully automated Asset Management system, leading the partnerships team into a new more efficient way of working.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and within our partners organizations.
  • Build internal reputation and knowledge of the wider Racing business as a whole.
