Job Description

We are looking for a professional with a highly positive demeanor, who has the ability to work well in a fast paced, dynamic manufacturing setting. The individual shall be a steward of our culture by demonstrating a great attitude, leading,influencing, developing employee/teams, and promoting an engaged and safe workplace. Candidate shall have a proven track record in driving actions that achieve results in key areas of the business including safety, quality, delivery, productivity and cost savings. This individual will also be responsible for facilitating and implementing manufacturing improvements across the division.

Essential Functions: 

  • Make recommendations to existing processes that will reduce cost, risk, waste, and in turn improve quality, productivity, and yields.
  • Fully own engineering projects, collaborating with all departments and outside contractors.
  • Understand, maintain, and continually improve manufacturing processes as related to safety, quality, efficiency, and delivery.
  • Display strong decision-making skills even in high-pressured situations/environments.
  • Utilize 80/20/sound prioritization skills in managing all aspects of the role.
  • Develop new and maintain existing facility/manufacturing layouts.
  • Analyze problems and sources of conflict, explores and selects solutions, implements an action plan, and resolves issues.
  • Collaborate with production personnel and management to effectively support safety related initiatives.
  • Manage external contractors and internal maintenance support resources as needed.
  • Lead safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost saving initiatives through employee involvement and ITW toolbox (similar to Lean) principles to achieve business objectives including participation in teams within the business and functional areas.
  • Communicate the status of Toolbox projects (Lean), including; progress reports, identifying barriers and recommended solutions.
  • Justify and procure capital equipment/tooling for existing and or new processes
  • Demonstrate and encourage effective communication to personnel at all levels within the organization.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Mechanical Engineering program.
  • 3 years of professional work experience in an Engineering capacity, internships included.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude, takes personal accountability, listens, is approachable, and exhibits encouragement of diverse ideas.
  • Displays great organizational skills with an understanding on prioritization.
  • Proven record in driving results.
  • Strong initiative and follow through with a drive to learn.
  • Strong computers skills including Microsoft Office, Solidworks and/or AutoCAD experience desirable
  • Solid mechanical aptitude
