Client and Event Experience Track Event Intern

Talladega Superspeedway was created as a palace of speed in 1969 by NASCAR founder Bill France, Sr., who coined it “the Greatest Race Track in the World.”  At a mammoth 2.66-miles with 33 degrees of banking in the turns, it is NASCAR’s Most Competitive venue. The “Fun” track prides itself on being family friendly, especially with the introduction of the Talladega Garage Experience in 2019 where guests are immersed into motorsports like never before. The host of two major NASCAR weekends a year, the iconic ribbon of asphalt is easy accessible off I-20, located between Birmingham, AL, and Atlanta, GA.

Talladega Superspeedway is seeking a Client and Event Experience Track Event Intern who will assist in all facets of the Client Services and Event Experience departments. This position will report to the Client Services and Event Experience teams and perform duties assigned by each. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented with a strong willingness to learn, a desire to work in a fast-paced environment, and an ability to work extended hours based on event needs.

The dates are flexible, but at a minimum, they must include February 2, 2022, through May 6, 2022. 

This position will be responsible for assisting with the following: 

Event Experience Responsibilities

  • Talladega Garage Experience event preparation and post-event breakdown/clean up
  • Attend pre/post-event site walkthroughs and planning meetings
  • Research, plan & attend grassroots/in-market promotional events
  • Distribute giveaway items and materials 
  • Signage creation, placement and content strategy 
  • Plan and execute Fan experiences during events
  • Manage entertainment (bands, driver appearances, DJ, activities) and schedules
  • Write post-event summaries and recaps

Client Services Responsibilities

  • Support all aspects of the sales process for the Sales team
  • Co-manage the fulfillment process of partnership and corporate hospitality assets, including tickets, parking passes, credentials, etc., for both printed and digital passes through our ticketing platform tickets.com.
  • Assist suite and hospitality clients during all Talladega major events during the designated period.
  • Create and process contracts and orders in the corporate sales system (ProVenue and EBMS)
  • Provide support to the Special Events and Hospitality team as needed
  • Assist with Special Projects as assigned
  • Manage details of client activation, including inventory layouts, Event and Hospitality Guides and Partner communications
  • Work closely with multiple departments within the organization and Southeast Region, including Ticketing, Accounting, Legal, Operations, Security, NASCAR Partnership Marketing, Marketing/Digital, Business Development and Guest Services.

Housing not provided. The position will pay $11/hour. Travel to Southeast Region events, if required, will be paid by the Company.

Qualifications: 

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing or Sports Management
  • Strong organization and communication skills 
  • Must have a strong worth ethic and willingness to learn sales systems, databases, and partnership management/activation.
  • A team player who is committed to the success of the event
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of and ability to use multiple computer programs (Microsoft Office, Adobe, etc.)
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Willingness to learn and positive attitude
  • Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
  • Basic knowledge of motorsports and NASCAR
