CAD Business Partner

The position:

We are looking to recruit a CAD Business Partner to provide the link between IT and Vehicle Design as Business Partner for NX administration, development, training, and support.

The role:

The work in this role will be broken down into 4 main areas of work:

At Elbow Support / Resolving helpdesk tickets for Vehicle Design
Mentoring / Training
Project-based work – Process Development / Improvement.
Day to day system administration

Core competencies:

As Business Partner it will be your responsibility to ensure a good relationship is maintained between IT and Vehicle Design.
Will be involved in larger site-wide projects with a focus on delivering success for Vehicle Design.
Ensure IT procedures are followed where applicable.
Liaise and work with the rest of IT Engineering Systems to ensure joined-up thinking and development.
Collaborate with the Vehicle Design Head of Quality to help identify areas to develop.
Deliver end-user training and mentoring.
Manage and develop training material.
Authoring and maintaining system administration and end-user documentation.
Flexibility to work extended or cover out of hour’s upgrades or outages.

Although the primary focus will be within Vehicle Design, the role will require close collaboration with related upstream and downstream functions (Aerodynamics, CAD/CAM, and Manufacturing Systems).

Core Skills:

Experienced NX User (Mechanical and/or Composites Engineering background)
Knowledge of NX9 or later (ideally NX-1847 Series).
Quick and effective at problem-solving.
Teamcenter User (Understanding of basic functions).
Microsoft Office.
Excellent communication skills, written, interpersonal and telephone.
Self-motivated, innovative, and capable of working with minimum supervision under pressure.
Leads by example and is a team player with an open-minded, responsible and constructive attitude.

Additional Skills Advantageous to Role (but not Essential):

NX installation, configuration, patching and monitoring.
Basic scripting.
Support experience.
Trainer experience.
Understanding of Checkmate, creating and implementing checks.
Knowledge of NX DMU.
Knowledge of NX Open and creating/maintaining VB.Net code (or other).
Teamcenter Administration Tasks (rename, deletion etc).
Teamcenter Change Management.
Teamcenter Visualisation.
Data import and export.
SharePoint and Microsoft Teams creation and administration.
Understanding of CAE tools (NX Nastran, Abaqus, LS-Dyna).
Previous project management experience.
