Apprentice Composite Support Engineer

Williams is recruiting for an exciting apprenticeship opportunity within Vehicle Design, the role will sit within the area of Composite Structures. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who have a passion for engineering and want to work for an exciting and ever-changing formula 1 team. As Apprentice Composite Support Engineer, you’ll be part of a team involved from a concept design phase through to detailing composite components and assemblies. You’ll support and have ownership of projects, incorporating manufacture, build, testing and racing, including fault analysis and resolution. You will develop or learn skills such as calculation work and the production of supporting documentation for the factory and trackside.

This is a 4-year Apprenticeship plan where you will initially complete an Engineering Design and Draughtsperson Level 3 apprenticeship. You will complete your training with TBC.

We are interested in applicants who demonstrate a practical approach and are interested in Design and Technology. A minimum of 5 GCSE’s at grade C or above is required including Maths, English and Science. A keen interest in engineering is vital to be successful in this position so please do advise on your CV of any hobbies or extracurricular activities which would help support your application. Throughout the duration of the apprenticeship, you will receive support accordingly; this is including regular performance evaluations with the nominated manager to aid professional and personal development. Successful applicants will be able to communicate effectively, have a positive attitude to work and a mature outlook. A flexible attitude to work and hours is essential, as well as being a good team player.

The closing date is Monday 19th April 2021 - Initial assessment centres will be held virtually, followed by a virtual interview and the final stage will be held on-site for a day or two of shadowing within the COVID safe environment. Please note if selected for the final stage you will need to undertake a lateral flow test and ensure a negative result to be permitted onsite. This may vary depending on COVID when the assessment and interviews are held and will be in line with government guidance with the safest possible measures provided.
