Accountant, Accounts Receivable

NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Accountant, Accounts Receivable. This position will be based in Daytona Beach, FL.

Creates manual invoices, adjustments/write-offs and billing schedules for NASCAR Holdings and it’s subsidiaries, NASCAR Team Properties, and Motorsports Charities. Reconciles accounts receivable accounts, prepare journal entries and determines appropriate sales item coding for miscellaneous invoice requests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Creates invoices in Workday Software, and researches/determines appropriate coding for miscellaneous invoice requests, based on knowledge of Sales items and Revenue categories.
  • Creates customer invoice adjustments and write-offs.
  • Monitors/Creates billing schedules (determine appropriate type, billing terms, dates, etc.) from revenue contracts for various companies.
  • Prepares month-end journal entries and AR account Review.
  • Uses import files for the uploading of invoices, billing schedules, and journal entries into Workday software.
  • Prepares month-end account reconciliations.
  • Completes New Vendor Setup Forms when required by customers.
  • Assists with gathering information for the internal and external audits.
  • Ability to manage, maintain and provide input and support on improving processes.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred, or Associate's degree in Accounting and two (2) years related experience.

Language Skills

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.  Ability to effectively communicate to management and resolve issues.  Ability to respond to inquiries from customers, business personnel and department management. Includes ability to summarize accounting policies for business personnel as necessary.  Ability to provide clear and concise instruction.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply concepts such as discounts, interest, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.  Ability to identify accounting problems and generate reasonable solutions.

Computer Skills

Proficient skills on all company provided hardware and software.  Experience with accounting systems.  Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products with strong knowledge of Excel.

Other Skills

In addition to the skills listed above, must be able to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and time management skills are required.   Must maintain a positive attitude and work ethic. May occasionally be required to work overtime as needed, to meet the objectives of the position and department.
