Quality Control CMM Technician

POSITION SUMMARY
Conduct tests to evaluate the quality of chassis, parts, and components. Tests may include stability, measurement to specification, and quality of material.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of chassis assemblies, body components, manufactured parts, and bought components using Portable CMMs, Laser Scanners, and Hand Tools.
  • Monitor testing procedures to ensure that all tests are performed according to established item specifications, standard test methods, or protocols.
  • Responsible for reading and interpreting drawings to match parts and components to specifications.
  • Complete documentation needed to support testing procedures and responsible for tagging and notifying appropriate parties when parts and components are out of specification.
  • Calibrate, validate, or maintain equipment used for testing of parts and components. Equipment being utilized includes Portable CMM, Stationary CMM, Laser Scanners, Laser Etcher, Hardness Tester, Hand Tools.
  • Identify quality problems and recommend solutions.
  • Perform validations or transfers of analytical methods in accordance with applicable policies or guidelines.
  • Interpret test results, compare them to established specifications and control limits, and make recommendations on appropriateness of data for release.
  • Ensure that lab cleanliness and safety standards are maintained.
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment problems.
  • Serve as a technical liaison between quality control and other departments, vendors, or contractors.
  • Perform measured inspections of finished products.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
Experience: 1 plus years of experience
Computer Skills: Basic Computer skills. Prefer experience utilizing measurement related software. CMM programming experienced preferred. Computer programming experience preferred.
Other Requirements: Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed. Ability to work as a team player and communicate effectively with other department and organization team members. Required prior experience utilizing measurement tools.
