Brake Sub Assembly Specialist

Hendrick Motorsports, a leading NASCAR Motorsports operation, is currently seeking an experienced, highly motivated Brake Sub Assembly Specialist. The candidate should be able to multi-task and meet tight deadlines within a team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate should have the ability to provide ongoing support to engineering and race teams to ensure timely delivery of brakes and related components. The successful individual must be able to communicate well and work closely with team peers. The position requires strong attention to detail, as well as strong knowledge of brakes and related components.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Provides support and interaction to team engineers and crew chiefs regarding brake configuration on a as needed basis
  • Responsible for assembly, disassembly, installing, rebuilding and quality control of the following: brake hard lines, brake reservoirs, throttle cables and cable ends.
  • Maintain Xfinity team hard lines/components in regards to install, service and quality control
  • Interact and maintain relationship with brake related suppliers and affiliates regarding new product development and advancement
  • Record all brake sub assembly related information in the team database, capturing team information, mileage, and weekly competition data
  • Maintain all brake sub assembly components for Show car/special projects/test cars
  • Would require some travel to tests to work on brake system options/components

  • Repairing - Repairing items using needed tools and equipment.
  • Troubleshooting - Determining the causes of operating errors and deciding the action to take.
  • Safety Awareness - Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Minimum two years’ experience in a related position required
  • Must possess a strong mechanical aptitude and a thorough knowledge and understanding of mechanical and brake systems
  • Must possess the ability to follow specific and detailed procedures
  • Prior race experience required
  • Must possess the ability to work a flexible schedule and travel as needed
  • Must possess the ability to lead by example and teach others
  • Must possess strong problem solving capabilities
  • Must be a team player and possess a high level of integrity
  • Must possess personal tools and equipment
