Job Location

  • Manhattan Beach, CA (Hybrid Work – In Office and Remote) is preferred.

  • Remote - USA (Remote Work with business travel) is a possibility for the right candidate.

Role Overview

As a member of the Program Purchasing Team, the Bill of Material (BOM) Specialist will be responsible for overall bill of material (BOM) management.  This includes BOM configuration for new vehicle launches, performing day-to-day BOM audit and analysis for accuracy, maintaining BOM costing, management of BOM ECR’s including timely implementation with correct configuration applied. The candidate will work closely with Program Management, Finance, Purchasing, Engineering, and other cross functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of Fisker vehicles and feature offerings

  • Work with engineering and purchasing to create and maintain accurate BOMs for pre-production vehicles

  • Set and achieve targeted goals and objectives related to vehicle development

  • Work with Program Managers, Purchasing, Engineering and Manufacturing teams to ensure that the BOM has the correct structure as well as the correct components and quantities

  • Maintain accurate and costed BOMs for production vehicles

  • Update structure and cost based on engineering changes and commercial impact on components

  • Assist Purchasing and Engineering as needed in building and/or troubleshooting BOM costs

  • Prepare weekly reports as required to support production and profit analysis based on BOM cost

  • Provide input to improve efficiency of our methods and process

  • Track open issues, communicate issues to all groups and setup meetings as required to close all issues

Basic Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience

  • 7+ years of experience working within a Tier I or OEM automotive environment

  • Key experience managing Bill of Material structure

  • Experience with SAP and managing Purchase Part file creation

  • Strong background working within cross-functional teams, interacting with Purchasing, Engineering & Manufacturing
