Purpose of Role

Working within the McLaren Customer Quality team to effectively manage the PDI operation including: inspection, repair and management of all associated data (including QCR, Database input) for vehicles moving through the Woking facility; ensuring top trending faults identified and fed back into plant and acting as the final gatekeeper between McLarens Production Centre and the customer. This role will work cross functionally with all areas of McLarens Production Operations and will also allow the incumbent to help drive process improvements and overall quality output.

Principal Accountabilities

Inspection

  • Inspection of ALL incoming cars through the line ensuring all (McLaren Product Audit) MPA 50 calls are identified and rectified before car is processed through to dispatch

Rework

  • Basic rework activity of all above faults and where necessary coordination of resource from MPC (rework / MPA) to ensure appropriate materials and resources are available to resolve more complex issues.
  • Run a daily feedback meeting to the plant highlight trending issues and produce reports for high level reviews.

Cross Functional Working

  • To work closely with the McLaren Product Audit (MPA) team, Quality Operations team and GA Operations team to ensure top trending issues are being checked and contained before reaching Chipping Warden (and the customer)
  • Support the Warranty team with Data highlighting areas of re-work and repair that could support warranty claims coming in from the field.
  • Support the dispatch team as Quality representative acting as the final gatekeeper between McLaren and the customer.

Data Input and analysis

  • Management of MPC's Data on top trending issues, QCR raising, Photographic archive management, FPV data, CPC data etc.

Risk Assessments

  • Ensure risk assessments and all H&S measures are kept up to date and managed effectively and where needed manage SOT tours.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Experience of working within in a manufacturing driven environment
  • McLaren inspection experience desired
  • Previous experience re-working McLaren product (simple reworks including paint and trim reworks)
  • Experience of working within a cross functional team
  • Good level of knowledge for Microsoft Office packages (Excel, PowerPoint, CRM etc.)
  • Ability to manage own time efficiently and comfortable working independently
  • Deep understanding of McLaren products and trending MPA / Warranty concerns
  • No formal qualifications necessary however previous experience in rework and inspection are required.
