Your Tasks
As a key member of the performance engineering group, you will work closely with your Race Engineer and Race Driver to maximize the performance of one of our Race cars during race and test events. The role will require extensive travel and include supporting DIL Simulator sessions.
- Collaborate with the Race Engineer and Race Driver to ensure maximum car performance
- Collaborate closely within performance engineering team and the 2nd Race car Engineering crew, analyse and improve overall car performance
- Calibrate vehicle dynamics/performance-related on-car software functionalities
- Identify, calculate and monitor key performance indicators
- Provide detailed and concise technical reports on vehicle performance
- Suggest car setup options and tyre strategy based on simulation and track data analysis
- Suggest future vehicle development directions based on data analysis
- Check functionality of performance-relevant vehicle sensors in data
- Assist with any performance-related activities on driving simulator
- Develop, maintain and run our performance software tools (data analysis and laptime Simulation)
- Validate simulation and simulator models against track data
Your Qualification
- Master's or Bachelor's Degree in STEM studies
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Performance Engineering / Data Analysis in a high-level motorsport series (Formula E, WEC, etc.)
- Methodical and analytical way of working with an ability to propose creative and innovative solutions
- A solid background in the fundamentals of vehicle dynamics
- Experience in vehicle dynamics on-car software calibration
- A flexible approach to working hours and ability to handle pressure
- Willingness to extensive travel
- Open-mindedness and exceptional teamwork skills
- Skills in ATLAS and/or Wintax
- Knowledge of Matlab / Simulink and/or others programming softwares
- Good knowledge of English
- Knowledge of German appreciated
