F1 SYSTEMS SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER 100% (all genders)

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work as a systems software development engineer in a well-established Formula 1 racing team
  • Play a crucial role in the development of our next-generation real-time telemetry and data management system
  • Design, specify and implement real-time data streaming and storage solutions
  • Optimize system performance and reliability through testing and debugging
  • Support other Systems related performance analysis tools and applications
  • Document software designs, implementation details, and operational procedures
  • Support races and tests and troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve faults

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Visual Studio and C#, or other relevant programming languages
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka for real-time data streaming with knowledge of message partitioning, and event-driven architectures optimized for reliability and performance
  • In-depth knowledge of the latest features and improvements in .NET 6
  • Good experience with gRPC, including the ability to design and implement communication protocols
  • Experience in designing and developing microservices-based architectures with the ability to build modular and scalable components
  • Familiarity with open-source storage systems (e.g., InFluxDB) and file formats (e.g., Apache Parquet) and an understanding of columnar storage principles and optimization techniques of large-scale data
  • Background in engineering data streaming, with a focus on designing solutions for real-time processing and analytics
  • Proficiency in version control systems like Git for managing and collaborating on code changes effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues and optimize API performance and functionality
  • Excellent English language skills (verbal and written), communication and teamwork abilities
  • Experience in the automotive or racing industry
  • Independent and precise way of working even under time pressure, highly self-motivated and result-oriented
  • A committed team player, flexible and innovative
