Digital Content Planning & Strategy Manager

We are looking for a Digital Content Planning and Strategy Manager to provide integrated planning and reporting to our team. This role is a new allocation to help underpin the alignment and evolution of ground breaking digital content by Formula 1. It is an exciting opportunity to inject knowledge of objective tracking, with audience engagement behaviour, alongside process of understanding the multiple pathways of audience engagement, across multiple global digital assets: from social, to web & app, audio, and streaming platforms: alongside language and territorial optimisations.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced planner who also has demonstrable experience of broader strategic tracking of sport engagement in the global digital ecosystem. Precious experience of integrated research, planning and analysis is very important, alongside capability to orchestrate multi-stakeholder alignment, and face to face reviewing and interactions. Plus, a genuine background of cross-over with content production and potential product asset alignment with audience-base is ideal: and knowledge of F1 would be an added bonus, alongside other sport and motorsport.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Content Planning & reporting

Organising and leading integrated planning, with internal content teams, stakeholders and external agencies and contractors

Planning Objectives    

  • Define and set up weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual integrated content planning process
  • Create, update and align all tracker templates, with internal analytics team & external agencies
  • Set up integrated content reporting templates and define how they are updated
  • Help personally inject reporting into creative and ideation sessions

Strategy

Allocated research, planning, select direct meeting and attending appropriate events, and crossover opportunities to pull together global data and mindsets to help underpin an evolving global digital strategy.

  • Identify and track global sport brands, and selected other brands whose platforms and content are driving extensive or ground-breaking global engagement
  • Define and review ground-breaking content streams and formats: on global brand owned and operated platforms, and F1 shared content, plus F1 partners & creators
  • Identify and track ground breaking localisation and in-language stand-out opportunities
  • Review global and stand-out Digital Platforms, and background on what underpins their engagements
  • Review F1 Media crossover, and Rights-holder crossovers, to then define and suggest optimum collaborations
  • Review activations across all F1’s own digital content areas:
    • Channel crossovers; optimisation of assets per platform
    • Commercial partner content standouts
    • Brand alignment: optimum integration
    • Target audience engagement

Project Management

Lead select project management on range of cross-digital content planning projects:

  • Oversee project planning, budget alignment, project structuring and appropriate delivery, reporting
  • Optimise on integrated Project Management Platform (Asana)
    • Used across content and in digital video production
  • Set-up on platform for content concept briefing process, including audience segmentation focus
    • Plus production project definition, timelines,
    • And integration with output tracking and reporting
  • Help organise face to face sessions with digital team, key stakeholders

About You

  • Digital sport content planning,  engagement and tracking
  • Involvement in strategic planning, aligned with corporate objectives
  • Engagement with senior stakeholders: internally and external
  • Digital project management orchestration in multiple areas
  • Deep proficiency in project management tools, spreadsheet and database software usage.
  • Knowledge of multiplatform optimisation techniques
  • Ability to work in both deep detail, whilst also being able to do step back reviewing of broader strategic evolutions.
  • Ability to work under own initiative and prioritise work effectively on a series of simultaneous projects
  • Apply sound judgement in the course of identifying and implementing the best possible project solutions, and advising senior F1 production staff accordingly
  • Planning, briefing contractors, managing and overseeing outputs, delivering feedback and pushing ongoing improvements
  • Project management tools, spreadsheet and database software usage.

  • Ability to prioritise workload and use initiative
