Warehouse – Merchandise Processor / Receiving Lead

Full-Time – Monday 7am - 5pm Tuesday-Friday 7am - 4pm

Description:

This position is responsible for picking and shipping of all orders from the warehouse. Move freight for shipping and pack and box in preparation for shipping to customers. Receive product and put away on shelves in order to keep stock replenished and up to date. Maintain the safety and neatness of warehouse including sweeping, pickup up boxes, and organizing.

As a Warehouse Lead you are also Responsible for new team member training and team member development. Other responsibilities include, communicating vendor concerns, internal department emails, assist with special warehouse projects, and day to day receiving and shipping responsibilities.

Where you’ll spend your time:

  • Receive product that has been ordered and enter into computer system. Notify accounting product has been received. Place items in correct place on shelves
  • Prepare items for shipment to customers. Locate and move items item from shelves. Box product to ensure safe shipping without item being damaged and enter required information in system. Attach slings, hooks, or other devices to lift cargo and guide loads
  • Move items by lifting or carrying by hand. May use equipment such as fork lifts, ladders, dollies etc.
  • Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported
  • Pack containers and re-pack damaged containers
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs
  • Use handheld scanner and computer systems to account for products being received or shipped
  • Requires following safety procedures and instructions
  • Sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code
  • Reading customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped
  • May be responsible for returned merchandise and crediting customers
  • Responsible for directing and mentoring other warehouse employees when the warehouse supervisor is not available or present
  • Responsible for notifying warehouse supervisor or higher-level manager of issues or concerns that may have occurred in the warehouse supervisor’s absence
  • Other duties as assigned.

You have/possess:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • 1+ years of related and stable work experience in a warehouse or distribution center (preferred)
  • Must be 18 years of age and able to obtain forklift certification
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. on a regular basis and team lift or shift product onto equipment up to 120 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, and push items on a regular basis

  • Requires extended periods of walking and standing, bending and twisting, and overall repetitive movement
