The Role

The VP of Experiential and Events will lead the events division at MotorTrend Group. With a primary focus of developing new events, expanding existing events, and integrating and growing MotorTrend customer subscriptions into every event. Responsibilities will include managing sales and expanding client base as well as execution, P&L and operational functions. This role must deliver both commercially and operationally, working closely with key stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on brand, on time, and on budget. The VP of Experiential and Events will develop and execute robust strategic plans, budgets, KPIs, and detailed operational plans that deliver growth for MotorTrend’s Event Group. This position will report to the Global Head of Sales.

Responsibilities;
• Responsible for the MotorTrend Events Group P&L.
• Proactively identify new business targets and projects that are a fit with MotorTrend Group’s brands including new events and new sales targets.
• Explore opportunities to expand the business into other business areas.
• Maintain and grow existing events business ensuring that these projects continue to deliver against agreed objectives and KPI’s.
• Integrate MotorTrend video subscriptions and VIP experiences to all events driving conversions of sign-ups.
• Inspire and lead a small team, providing a clear vision with actionable insights and clear measurement of success.
• Design presentations and proposals that are on brand ensuring that each project is delivering customer centric led experiences.
• Build a robust business case and pricing model for each opportunity to ensure that margins and project expectations are in line with MotorTrend’s expectations.
• Work collaboratively with key stakeholders across the business to harness the skills and knowledge required to support the growth of the business.
• Foster an environment that is high energy, positive, open and encourages all team members to give a view and take responsibility.
• Responsible for taking critical learning and drive synergies, process and cost effectiveness across the total business.

Education/Experience
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in media, strategy, events and/or sales.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Prior relationships, management and experiences in events a requirement.
• Prior experience or deep interest in automotive would be a benefit.
• Substantial and proven experience of leading and growing a successful events business.
• Strong Business Development and demonstrable proven track record in delivering sustainable revenue and profit streams.
• Experience in working in several event segments markets and enjoys travel.
• Commercially astute and driven by success.
• Must have an “operational” capability and be prepared to be hands on with the teams under management.
• Experience of working in complex organizations.
• Understands the value of luxury brands and their positioning in the market.
• Knowledge and experience of the Motorsport industry.
• Has led a customer-centered event environment.
• Ability to show evidence of complex program management, project delivery and working to tight deadlines.
• Able to make presentations that inspire and influence.
