As the Vehicle Engineering Leader, you’ll be intrinsic to delivering Vehicle Attributes Excellence in line with program timing. You will be an experienced, key player in the Vehicle Engineering Team, at FF, the key technical coordination department for the product creation process. The role has key deliverables ownership from product conception through to Start of Production. It has responsibilities ranging from benchmarking and concept development, vehicle target creation/ attribute balancing, detail engineering issue resolution, through to attribute delivery, final engineering sign-off and the management of drive appraisals.
Operational duties will involve:
- Working closely with the Vehicle Engineering Manager, Vehicle Chief Engineer, Attribute leaders, Product definition and Program teams to enable delivery of vehicle attributes to produce product in line with expectations
- Support/conduct whole vehicle, attribute and system benchmarking and help to generate appropriate targets for the product.
- Work with DRE’s to confirm design/specification/performance at various engineering gateways through use of virtual/physical assessment of target delivery
- Assist in concern resolution with engineering and attribute teams including regular reviews and reporting as required.
- Assist with management reviews and drive assessments as required.
- Act as stand-in for the Vehicle Engineering Manager as required
- Coordinate management reviews and drive assessments as required
Basic Qualifications:
- Degree in Automotive / Mechanical Engineering
- 3 years of experience in OEM Vehicle Engineering
- Excellent communication / presentation skills
- High levels of personal organization and motivation
- Excellent team leading capability
- A good understanding of full cycle product creation from target setting through to vehicle sign off processes and into successful launch / manufacture
- A good level of understanding of all vehicle systems
- Good problem solving techniques and ability
- High drive, self-motivated and able to deliver under pressure.
