TIG Welder/Fabricator

You will be part of a team of welder/fabricators to Produce fabricated assemblies on time and to internal standards to satisfy SST customers, predominantly within the motorsport and Hyper car sector. You will be required to weld various materials from CDV6 Titanium and Stainless steels. If you have not welded one or more of the materials listed, we can give training and guidance to give you the necessary skills to allow you to be able to complete the tasks given to you.

You will be required to work from detailed drawings and instructions utilising production jigs. All parts have been machined and fitted to allow quick fabrication times however at times you may be required to fit and complete the fitment to give a fully conforming part.

Responsibilities:

  • Welding (TIG) of components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies to go into products following relevant drawings, procedures or guidelines.
  • Use of fixtures and jigs to successfully produce work to required specification.
  • Continuous improvement needs to implemented if it is beneficial to the projects and welcomed from each employee
  • You would be required to meet and maintain production output targets whilst using our internal job processing system
  • Identify and report defective Parts materials and fixtures to allow the best parts possible are produced
  • It is expected that you work in a safe manner protecting the Health and safety of yourself and colleagues.
  • We expect you to keep your working area clean and tidy and clear of all obstructions and hazards to allow you and your colleagues to maintain an efficient working environment.

Personal Characteristics:

  • Ability to work alone and within a team towards a common goal
  • Must have good communication skills and be able to work accurately and have good attention to detail
  • The ability to read and understand engineering drawings is a must as the candidate will be expected to produce a finished item with minimal supervision. A high standard of welding and finishing will be required
  • Comfortable working to deadlines and flexible to be able to adapt to short term changes
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and seek to maintain and improve these standards.
  • Take responsibility, pride and ownership of their work (or sub assembly that makes up the final assembly), and understands they are a link in the chain to achieve the end goal.
  • Good time keeper, and has the ability to work to, and achieve, production output targets
  • Willing to help others when required
  • Flexible to perform other duties if required to support the output to SST customers

We offer very competitive rates of pay and overtime, when available, is paid at time and a half Monday - Saturday and double time on a Sunday.
