Test Engineer Intern

We not only design and build these facility systems assets but also operate, maintain, and manage these facilities

Overview:

The Engineer will be responsible for test cell related projects, providing engineering guidance, and assisting operators / technicians with troubleshooting.

  • Understand the process of a testing program
  • Work collaboratively with management, technicians, and on-site client to complete projects and exceed client expectations
  • Revise work instructions and procedures
  • Provide technical input into upgrade and refurbishment projects
  • Working hands-on with technician staff

Responsibilities:

Project Deliverables

  • Recommissioning and recalibration of a wind tunnel facility after major renovation
  • Wind tunnel data acquisition system automatic test sequence creation
  • Wind tunnel control data automation
  • Updating wind tunnel procedures

Activation of new wind tunnel acoustic data system

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND /OR SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • A bility to understand basic engineering terminology
  • 2 years of college courses in engineering, mathematics, or science
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Good collaboration skills, able to work with multiple people and manage a variety of projects simultaneously
  • Excellent English skills (oral, reading, writing and listening)
  • Ability to communicate and interact well with others
  • Expert with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Project)
  • Exceptional organizational and planning skills
  • Exceptional leadership skills and proven record
  • Experience with testing computer terminals desired.

Experience in automotive wind tunnel testing highly desired.

  • Shift, 1st, 2nd, 3rd: Dayshift (7:00 – 3:30pm). Shift assignment is subject to change, so candidate must be flexible with available work hours.
  • Necessity for regular attendance: Critical, 100%
  • Urgency for punctuality: Critical, 100%
  • Work hours are normally 8 hours per day and 5 days per week, Monday-Friday. Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important, but not critical, except for deadlines and meetings. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines. Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements.

Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers. Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to employees or others. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner. Independent personal transportation to office or work site is required. Travel to and from customer’s locations and the test fields may be required to support projects. This may involve airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can possibly be made for POV, if necessary. When operating any vehicle for work purposes, must wear seat belt and in addition, no cellular devices are to be used when vehicle is in motion.
