Test Development Engineer

The position is with the ECU Test Development group. You will be responsible for working in a team environment and performing the following activities:

  • Develop test systems to test vehicle Electronic Control Units (ECUs).
  • Develop LabVIEW code within existing software design framework/architecture.
  • Develop software/hardware to support both production and Engineering Verification Testing.
  • Come up with
  • Develop and update engineering documents such as requirements specifications and test procedures.
  • Write test plans and reports, conduct various testing, collect and analyze data and trends. Purchase hardware for use with test system.
  • Develop a documentation structure for the test team.
  • Troubleshoot test systems when performance is not as expected.
  • Support system, engineering and design verification testing.
  • Support ECU test team with project planning.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline
  • 2+ years of LabVIEW programming.
  • 2+ years automated electronic test development experience required.
  • 5+ year of test engineering experience.
  • Must be experienced in electronic product testing, manufacturing processes and techniques related to electronics and electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Ability to understand, analyze and troubleshoot complex analog and digital electronic systems. Ability to develop VI’s and architecture for future development and maintenance.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to make cost/benefit/schedule decisions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BSEE Engineering Degree preferred.
  • Experience with development and release of test equipment for industrial safety control systems, including equipment verification and validation procedures.
  • Experience with schematic design and capture software (Altium).
