Systems Engineer - ENG08

Envision Racing is a UK based Formula E Team competing in the FIA Formula E World Championship and has the requirement for a qualified and experienced Systems Engineer to be employed full time with the team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to thrive in this challenging yet highly rewarding role.

 

Systems Engineer – Formula E Team

  • Reporting to the Technical Director or appointed engineering group, this role will have responsibility to monitor and to optimise the electrical systems and sensors on the car (high voltage and low voltage), and ensure the cars run safely and reliably.
  • The role also includes implementing the correct software mapping on the car, programming, and data offload of the car logger.
  • Attendance at all races in addition to tests and DIL sessions when requested.

 

Key skillset requirements are:

  • Precision in managing the performance, calibration and condition of all car related electrical systems and sensors.
  • Highly detail orientated but adaptable candidate, able to manage the workflow and any hardware/software updates.
  • Organised and structured to control the build and calibration of the car electrical systems to the highest standards and build specifications.
  • Ability to remain clear, calm and maintain consistent communication channels with other engineers, drivers and senior management via meetings, reports and the intercom system.
  • A good understanding of motorsport and control systems.
  • Excellent inter-personal and willingness to work in a dynamic and multicultural environment.
  • Follow all safety regulations and engineering procedures.
  • A proven ability to work to tight deadlines in a group or alone and remain calm under pressure.
  • Self-motivation with a will to contribute to the end goal.
  • The ideal candidate will have minimum 2 years relevant experience in motorsport or in automotive industry with electric powertrain control systems.
  • A flexible approach to working hours and availability to work on weekends is essential.
  • Strong computer knowledge and experience with data-acquisition software like Wintax, Atlas, Windarab and control system packages like Inca, System Monitor, Modas or similar.
  • A strong degree result in Mechanical, Electronic or Electrical Engineering.
  • Good English written and oral communication skills.

 

We are based at Silverstone business park, in a purpose-built workshop with free onsite parking and surrounded by forests and with an onsite gym to unwind during breaks.
