Role Overview

You will be member of the infotainment team responsible for identifying solutions and leading the requirement definition efforts in one or more domains of functionality towards superior digital user experiences. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating competitive solutions of tomorrow through not only understanding current market, customer needs and trends but also through contributing with new innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the technical roadmap for your assigned functional infotainment domain such as navigation, voice control, media streaming, instrument cluster, audio system and others.
  • Work with the UI/UX design team and engineering teams to define market leading solutions considering timing, cost, and risks.
  • Define and architect the features from user story level to detailed functional requirements in collaboration with the teams and ensure that all needed details get clarified to support successful implementation by the engineers.
  • Use UML diagrams such as state or activity diagrams when it helps define and communicate complex functionality.
  • Lead high quality reviews of the requirements with other team members to help proactively reduce the number of defects that otherwise will cause costly setbacks later.
  • Follow the functional safety ISO26262 standard in areas where safety is of concern.
  • Represent your requirements and proactively review the implementation of them during the software sprints to ensure all requirements are understood during the implementation of them and corrections are done timely.
  • Prioritize and drive requirement definition efforts against critical vehicle program milestones to ensure successful compliance with milestone targets and any inter-dependency to other teams get satisfied.
  • Understand the critical trade-offs in prioritizing the individual features.
  • Make informed data driven decisions.
  • Establish awareness of the competitive landscape of your functional domain both against vehicles from other OEMs as well as, when applicable, other products of other categories such as smart phones and smart TVs.
  • Identify suppliers as needed for executing your functional domain, and when possible, enable open innovation relationships in key areas to create first in market solutions.
  • Lead efforts towards growing the company’s IP portfolio in your area of infotainment functionality with identifying solutions and ideas having patent potential.

Qualifications/ Knowledge/ Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years of automotive infotainment technical experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience as software product manager.
  • Experience from developing market-leading and innovative quality products.
  • Experience from large software projects following modern agile processes.
  • Experience in managing products through all phases from the early creative phase to successful mass production.
  • Experience in developing products following the ISO26262 standard on functional safety in automotive.
  • Experience working with complex systems involving ECU intercommunication through CAN or other similar protocols.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with an ability to motivate and grow passion among team members towards creating superior products in a complex cross-functional and multisite product development organization.
  • Experience from being directly involved in successfully creating IP including getting one or more patents granted
