ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Manager of Social and Digital Content manages all social media platforms that fully support the marketing and publicity efforts for Charlotte Motor Speedway, zMAX Dragway, The Dirt Track, The Speedway Club and Cars & Coffee, creating compelling brand awareness and fan engagement opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, plan and execute effective social media strategies and campaigns (both paid and organic) designed to engage, inform and entertain
  • Generate creative and compelling social media content (written, photo, video) for all social media platforms covering Charlotte Motor Speedway, zMAX Dragway, The Dirt Track at Charlotte, The Speedway Club and Cars & Coffee
  • Monitor social media trends and create topical, relevant speedway-centric content in accordance with speedway brand standards
  • Stay abreast of cutting-edge social media applications and be a leader in implementing them for the company
  • Deliver a positive message on behalf of the company when engaging with fans
  • Manage social media needs of speedway partners, working with Corporate Sales department to plan and execute all deliverables within the scope of the speedway’s overall social media plans
  • Plan and coordinate graphic needs with marketing/creative department to ensure timely delivery of quality content for use in social/digital campaigns
  • Track budgets and ROI on social media posts/campaigns and make suggestions to improve the overall effectiveness of the speedway’s social media
  • Support sister track event-weekend social needs through SM workshare, including at least two additional weekends each year
  • Cultivate strong relationships with social media contacts at NASCAR, race teams and news outlets to help coordinate shared efforts and extend the reach of speedway posts
  • Work closely with speedway’s PR and marketing teams to amplify appropriate messages regarding announcements, news, updates, etc.
  • Lead event-time social media team during race weekends at Charlotte Motor Speedway
  • Create reports tracking analytics of best/worst posts across platforms to help refine social strategy and provide CMS executive team key insights
  • Participate in Globe marketing/social media meetings and annual PR/Marketing summits to provide relevant social insights to help establish best practices
  • Manage social media interns and event-time staff for live, on-the-job experience

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Three to five years of experience generating social media content and/or publicity; live-event content creation and a familiarity with motorsports strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing successful organic and paid social media campaigns across a variety of platforms
  • Proficiency in shooting and editing creative photos and video; graphic design experience preferred
  • Aptitude in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite and social media monitoring
  • Proven success working across various stakeholder groups to conceptualize and execute effective social media
  • Superior verbal/written communications skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently as well as in team environments
  • Position requires ability to work nights and weekends
  • Position requires occasional travel through Speedway Motorsports workshare program to other facilities to support other events
