Texas Motor Speedway is among the largest sports stadiums in the United States and features an array of amenities such as the world’s largest TV that make it one of the premier venues in the world of sports. The 1.5-mile superspeedway located in Fort Worth hosts all three NASCAR national series as well as the NTT INDYCAR SERIES among its various races and specialty events throughout the year.

Since 2021, Speedway Motorsports has hosted NASCAR at COTA, bringing America’s premiere motorsports series to the world-class Circuit of The Americas (COTA) outside of Austin, Texas. The event annually features NASCAR’s top three series competing on the challenging 20-turn, 3.41-mile road course. The tripleheader race weekend includes the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series and a grand finale Cup Series battle in the AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 400.

Job Duties:

  • Daily posting and maintenance of all Texas Motor Speedway and NASCAR at COTA social media outlets including engagement/conservation, monitoring and issue escalation/response.
  • Conducts research to identify social media best practices and trends with an emphasis related to the Instagram platform that will be used to hone and improve Instagram strategy, campaigns, programs and best practices that are shared among all SM social media and marketing teammates.
  • Identify new and emerging web and social media platforms and make recommendations to VP of Marketing.
  • Leads social media initiatives to include development and execution of all social media plans/tactics according to company goals.
  • Assist in the development of an overall marketing calendar using the approved template while ensuring to include consistent fan engagement strategies.
  • Collaborates with marketing team including video and artistic personnel to develop a content calendar including production timelines.
  • Maintain an active role on Speedway Motorsports “task force” teams to help improve overall corporate effectiveness and efficiencies with specific responsibilities.
  • Designs and conducts social media-based promotions and contests in accordance with applicable laws and rules.
  • Responsible for blogger/influencer engagement and maintaining relationships.
  • Consistently review competitive landscape for timing & placement both locally and nationally such political climate, other sporting events, other local events that might compete with race.
  • Support sales initiatives with concise planning and communications to meet the expectations of sponsor elements such as promotions, social, digital, etc.
  • Engage with Track Rental events to promote and support initiatives to drive branding and attendance
  • Advocate for Speedway Children’s Charities with event support and marketing via web, social, email, app, etc.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Minimum three years of experience as a Social or Digital Media Manager/Coordinator or other marketing roles.
  • Experience in the execution of successful social campaigns.
  • Knowledge of social media, sports (particularly motorsports a MUST) and other pop culture trends to enhance creativity and brand positioning for successful posts/campaigns.
  • Ability to engage fans and influence digital strategy.
  • Creative thinker.
  • Excellent writing, research and reporting skills; some technical skills a plus.
  • Strong analytics and project management skills.
  • Strategic mindset with the aptitude to make marketing decisions.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Self-starter/multi-tasker, creative, and excellent time management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or public relations.
  • Willingness to work a non-traditional schedule that includes special events, major race weekends locally and nationally, other weekends when major sanctioning bodies are competing and when necessary, holidays.
  • Applicant must be willing and able to travel to other SM venues and events.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus
