Role Overview

Fisker is in search of a Site Reliability Engineer, reporting to the SRE Manager, Digital Product & Edge Computing, to plan, implement, and scale our many SRE/DevOps initiatives. You will have a crucial role supporting multiple Engineering teams within the Fisker org. You will contribute directly to our web services, applications, tooling, and workflows. You will help us reach our goals of building secure, reliable, and performant systems that connect our vehicle, our customers, our internal users, and internal systems. 

Responsibilities 

  • Design, provision, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters and resources 
  • Provision and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) 
  • Ensure the highest level of security in all systems 
  • Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines and automation 
  • Implement robust logging, monitoring and alerting, and participate in on-call shift rotations 
  • Build custom tools and integrate 3rd party tools to empower our engineers and improve productivity 
  • Work with web, backend, mobile, and QA engineers from multiple teams within the organization in order to streamline our processes and drive cross-team collaboration 
  • Contribute code and participate in code reviews 
  • Contribute to architectural discussions and proposals 
  • Contribute to documentation of SRE processes 
  • Troubleshoot issues and create postmortems 
  • Mentor team members in SRE/DevOps concepts, tools, and processes 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field 
  • 5+ years of SRE/DevOps experience 
  • Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) 
  • Experience with Kubernetes (EKS, GKE) 
  • Experience with IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation)  
  • Experience with logging, monitoring and alerting tools (Datadog, Prometheus, ELK, PagerDuty, etc.)
  • Experience with CI/CD systems (Jenkins, GitHub actions, etc.) 
  • Experience with high traffic, high availability services  
  • Experience with strict security requirements and implementation 
  • Exceptional communication skills 
  • Self-starter, ambitious, willing to take on difficult problems 
  • Collaborative, team player attitude  

Nice to Haves 

  • Experience with automotive systems 
  • Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, etc.) 
  • Experience with mobile app development (iOS, Android) 
  • Experience with artifact management (JFrog Artifactory, Sonatype Nexus) 
  • Experience with Data Engineering, Data lakes, ETL, and associated tools/technologies
