As a part of customer facing team, you will be a key member to help support our customers in professional motorsport series within North America. Your major tasks will include customer account management, infield customer support with our products and tools, and aiding in future product and software tools development.

Job Description

As a member of our high performance team your role will include, but not limited to the following duties:

  • Application and support of existing Bosch components and tools in racing industry
  • Aid in failure analysis of existing components and development of solutions
  • Proactively drive and support customer acquisition activities
  • Identifying new potentials in the marketplace to adapt existing Bosch technology
  • Project requirement definition and associated quotations for external customers
  • Electromechanical system design, both circuit and hardware integration side (e.g. alternator rectification, brushless motor controls)
  • Mechanical design for development components (NX, AutoCAD)
  • Maintaining the development documentation for current and released developments
  • Interfaces with customers and development partners to troubleshoot issues and collect feedback for ongoing and past developments, including collection of test and release data
  • Data acquisition support for both professional race series and unique customer requests
  • Gasoline engine application and troubleshooting support at customer test facilities and at race tracks.
  • Component selection, integration, and development for Gasoline (PFI and DI) applications
  • Motorsport wiring harness design and development for engine control and data acquisition systems for internal use and/or customer projects
  • Collaboration with multi-discipline project team domestically and abroad
  • Utilize time management and dynamic prioritization for multiple engineering projects
  • Travel to test and race support activities, customer meetings, and project team offsite meetings
  • Domestic and international travel flexibility required, up to 20% per year
  • Willingness to travel multiple times per year and on short notice. Typical travel requirement is 20-30 days per year

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
  • 6 or more years of combined experience in product development, in field product technical support, product and project management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Controls Systems, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
  • Project management experience – specifically demonstrate knowledge of project management principles and the ability to apply these principles, tools and techniques to plan, manage and execute projects to successful completion
  • Experience working in a cross-functional role in technical sales or product management with budget and/or profit/loss responsibility
  • Demonstrates experience in proactively engaging with customers / key stakeholders to exchange opinions, gain insights, build relationships, and find ways to create shared value
  • Demonstrates hands on experience with mechanical and/or electrical components and systems, e.g. engine repair work/rebuilds, engine management, Arduino projects, etc.
  • 3 years of relevant experience in the NASCAR or other professional racing industry, unless significant FSAE or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of electronics and system design; comprehension of basic electrical schematics and comfortable debugging electrical wiring harness issues
  • Working knowledge of mechanical design and electromechanical systems
  • Intermediate to advanced data analysis skillset with motorsport data analysis tools (i.e. Bosch WinDarab, MoTeC i2, Pi TOOLBOX, etc.)
  • Automotive experience related to vehicle dynamics and holistic vehicle system design/analysis
  • Experience with embedded software (MatLab Simulink, C / C++, C Sharp)
  • Experience with Electric drivetrain motors, inverters and high voltage(>400V) systems
  • Computer networking and associated IT troubleshooting knowledge, especially with Windows OS
  • Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal) - Native or minimum of C1 ( CEFR/ ACTFL)
  • German language skills
