POSITION SUMMARY:

The role of Research & Analytics Manager is to manage and communicate all marketing and sales research, initiate research and data acquisition to further the business goals of INDYCAR, manage sales and partnership data and continually update marketing collateral. The Manager, Research & Analytics serves the Marketing, Public Relations and Sales departments. This role will also assist the Indianapolis Motor Speedway with data and research related activities.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Manage relationships with service and data providers for TV, consumer research, sponsorship valuation, media metrics and other key areas.
  • Organize and distribute incoming data for internal and external usage including weekly, quarterly and yearly reports.
  • Manage consumer data and maintain proper training to ensure INDYCAR and IMS metrics are clearly interpreted and communicated.
  • Routinely benchmark the latest in research and data tools in the marketplace that could provide strategic benefit to INDYCAR and IMS.
  • Convert complex data and findings into understandable tables, graphs, and written reports
  • Devise and evaluate methods for collecting data, such as surveys, focus groups, questionnaires, and opinion polls.
  • Present findings to executives and peers through charts, graphs, and other visual means to help them make better-informed strategic decisions.
  • Measure effectiveness of marketing programs and strategies.
  • Create weekly reports to communicate weekend events as well as results to INDYCAR constituents.
  • Manage email system with database of necessary INDYCAR team and partner contacts.
  • Ensure team commercial staffs receive INDYCAR research and data to enable them to sell at an optimal level.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position currently does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university/college in one of the following disciplines marketing, market research, statistics, computer science, math, social sciences, business administration, or communications.

Skills/Experience

  • A minimum of three to four years’ professional experience in the research and/or motorsports industry
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Highly motivated and resourceful self-starter with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize and follow up on tasks and perform multiple responsibilities efficiently and accurately at the same time.
  • Strong analytic and critical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional written, oral, and presentation communication abilities.
  • Expertise with Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to use design software strongly desired.
  • Familiarity with Nielsen, Turnkey Intelligence and other research firm’s methodologies and offerings.
  • Knowledge of all the Penske Entertainment Corp. related properties

Travel/Work Hours

  • No required travel, however, this position may require working long hours and/or weekends based upon business needs and sales prospects. Flexibility and adaptability are key skills needed for this role.
