Quality Engineer
Location: Anna Engine Plant
Workstyle: Hybrid
About this Position:
Minimizing supplier quality issues using root cause analysis, implementing temporary solutions and permanent countermeasures to ensure minimal line impact and optimal product quality. Using a regional viewpoint, work with assigned suppliers toward continuous improvement of manufacturing characteristics.
Responsibilities include:
- Approve part/process changes for design changes and non-design changes.
- Approve/confirm Supplier root cause analysis, development of countermeasures and implementation
- Perform data analysis, prioritize top impact issues and drive supplier characteristic improvement activities
- Oversee and manage complex problem-solving analysis and investigations
- Coordinate and lead supplier countermeasure activities to provide an effective solution
- Manage and support communication with suppliers and other departments in regard to countermeasures
- Build technical, Honda Way, and Department knowledge
Who we are seeking:
Required Experience
- Co-op related work experience
- Meets or exceeds requirement for exempt level 1
Required Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering equivalent relevant experience

Key Performance Indicators
- Meet Division targets in the areas of Downtime, UTR, GDP and TRPU
- Meet Department targets for Subline Downtime, Index per million, A-Rank Reports, and Yard Holds.
- Respond to INI's, EDCIS, and CPCS within 3 days of submittal
- NARS reports to be maintained weekly

Decisions Expected
- Authority to approve a part change prior to installation on saleable product
- Review proposed countermeasures and their effectiveness once implemented
- Authority to require supplier to change processes and procedures to improve/guarantee part conformance to spec.
- Approve / confirm Supplier countermeasures
Additional Position Factors:
- Workstyle: Hybrid
- Travel: ability and potential travel up to 50% (local, domestic, international)
- Average overtime is 3-5 hours per week.
- Position is a mixture of working on the production floor at the supplier, in an office, and remote work environment.
