Quality Engineer

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

  • Maintain supplier monthly performance reports and distribute.
  • Develop and maintain incoming inspection plans.
  • Coordinating and conduct the incoming inspection activity.
  • Issue quality alerts in case of non-conformance.
  • Establishing containment activities, track concern resolution with suppliers, and collect costs incurred for possible supplier charge back.
  • Measure and analyze product trials and prepare reports for management review.
  • Take a hands-on approach to in-process inspection ensuring inspections & manufacturing documentation is completed appropriately.
  • Liaise with Quality Manager in relation to all aspects of internal and external audits.
  • Train suppliers to effectively execute corrective and preventive actions.
  • Drive continuous quality improvement in conjunction with engineering and operations.
  • Have a fundamental understanding of quality philosophies, principles, systems, methods, tools, standards, organizational and team dynamics, customer expectations and satisfaction supplier relations and performance, leadership training, interpersonal relationships, improvement systems, and professional ethics.
  • Lead on-site supplier audits and follow up on results.
  • Works with Warranty Manager and suppliers to reduce warranty costs.
  • Lead supplier and APQP activities and support in development of PFMEA’s and control plans.
  • Develop and provide customers with FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, and APQP.
  • Lead/support quality improvement initiatives at COMP Performance Group.
  • Lead control plan audits and assessment audits; both internally and at supplier’s facility.
  • Internal auditor for ISO 9001:2008
