What you’ll do
Manage and contribute to projects (Process Engineering/ Product Engineering) through complete life cycle including Concept, Design, Development, and Implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with various functions to conceptualize, write and execute Capital Projects.
- Design manufacturing/ assembly cells – layout, capacity, material handling, equipment selection using Engineering and lean principles
- Design and develop equipment, tooling, jigs and fixtures.
- Support New Programs Engineering activities (Welding & Paint) as needed
- Achieve project milestone timing and objectives for Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery.
- Research, Develop, and Implement new processes and technologies as required by product design and business objectives.
- Support deployment of GKN Corporate initiatives / Compliance activities
- Analyze, Test, and Execute countermeasures by utilizing problem solving methodologies.
- Proven ability to achieve project objectives leading cross functional teams.
- Understand and Practice Lean Manufacturing concepts in the business and manufacturing environments.
- Communicate clearly, effectively, and efficiently at all levels inside and outside the organization.
About you
Required Qualifications:
- Engineering Degree from an Accredited Institution – OR – 5+ years of Industrial Engineering Experience in lieu of a Degree
- Additional 5-7 years of experience in a high volume manufacturing environment, with demonstrated proficiency in: CNC programming, Process, Tool and Gage Design and Implementation
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with the MIAB (Magnetic Induction Arc Butt) Welding Process.
- Computer Skills:Microsoft Office Suite and Autocad
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience in an automotive machining environment with demonstrated excellence and creativity in the items above, and experience in:Automation Design for Material Handling and gaging, machine tool selection, and Creo 3D Modeling.
