The Role

We are looking for a Project Manager to be responsible for managing all aspects of assigned projects from initial concept through to part delivery. This will be a customer facing role and the successful individual will be the main contact for their appointed customers. They will also be the link between GTR’s shop floor and the customer.

As a Project Manager at GTR, you will be expected to report to the Business Manager, either directly or through an appointed liaison. You will be the main liaison between Design/Technical, Production, Inspection, Procurement and Administration departments.

Some of the key responsibilities of a Project Manager include, but are not limited to;

  • To look after the finance and quoting side of each project
  • To agree project responsibilities with each customer before any work is undertaken. Making sure all key aims and deliverables are clearly set out.
  • To represent GTR’s best interests to each customer.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time and within budget. With any required changes reported to and agreed with the customer.
  • Develop detailed project plans and track project progress.
  • To perform risk management as required and highlight any risks to the appropriate parties.
  • Effective and proficient use of the companies MRP system. (Progress Plus)
  • Ensure all required information is fed to the appropriate departments in the correct detail in Progress Plus.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Develop strong working relationships with each customer assigned to you and make regular visits to each customer to build relationships.
  • Review of customer drawings, highlighting any issues that are found to the customer.
  • Produce BOM’s and Routings as required, using the MRP system.
  • Quote each job and agree final prices with the customer.
  • As required obtain third party quotes for work that is required to be sub contracted. Select output based on price and delivery; In relation to the project.
  • Ensure delivery dates are achievable before confirming with customer.
  • Complete all required customer documentation in an efficient manner.
  • Seek out new customers to expand the global reach of the company wherever possible

Should the need arise, you may be required to travel and work away from the GTR Ltd premises, both nationally and internationally. However, this is a project dependant requirement and the role will be based at GTR’s main site in Fontwell, West Sussex.

Key requirements / experience:

  • Fluent written and spoken English is essential
  • Fluent written and spoken Italian is essential
  • Degree or Further Education is desirable
  • Experienced Microsoft user, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint essential.
  • Good knowledge of MRP systems.
  • Good understanding of Composite materials.
  • Excellent understanding of composite manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent understanding engineering manufacturing processes.
  • Proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Due to the nature of the industry that GTR works within, there may be the requirement to work above the contracted hours to meet deadlines.
