Project Engineer Infotainment & Interior Electronics - GME009

Gordon Murray Electronics currently has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager Infotainment & Interior Electronics to join our Electronics Teams based in Shalford, Surrey.

Responsibilities:

  • Management of the infotainment, primary display, and interior controls systems development programmes in conjunction with our Tier 1 suppliers and technical partners. Realisation of the systems using a combination of carry-over, modified and new components.
  • Engineering, development, and integration of systems into the overall vehicle electrical architecture (e.g., Head unit, cluster, interior controls, antenna, sound system, speakers, and microphones etc).
  • Guidance to ensure that control units and peripherals are correctly located and packaged in accordance with installation and wiring requirements. Compliance with any necessary environmental and EMC requirements.
  • Participation in all system review, verification & validation activities including FMEAs, ISO26262 functional safety, EMC, and functionality tests.
  • Fault identification and resolution including management of issues to closure.
  • Tier 1 supplier management and co-ordination including support for Procurement, Logistics and Quality throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provision of support and training to Manufacturing and Service departments.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Sound understanding of automotive infotainment, display, and interior control systems. Alternative relevant experience in consumer electronics or communications environments shall be considered.
  • Experience in the fields of HMI implementation, functionality, sound system installation and antenna integration would be advantageous.
  • Experience of system/component delivery within an APQP, six sigma or similar framework (FMEA, quality planning, PPAP etc).
  • Possession of an Electronics, Control Systems, Automotive or similar honours engineering degree. Other recognised engineering qualifications combined with relevant significant experience will be considered.
  • Full driving license is essential.
  • No visa or other restrictions for working in the UK or travelling in the European Union.
