Job Title: Production Engineer

Location: Tibshelf, Derbyshire

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8:30am 4:30pm (40 hours)

Contract: Permanent

Salary: upto £45,(Apply online only) per annum, dependant on experience

Role Purpose:

The Production Engineer will play a key role in driving systematic improvements in our client s aluminum extrusion and recycling plants. This includes establishing best practices and implementing these in a busy production environment operating continuous shifts. The individual will have to be motivated, flexible, efficient in execution and able to manage timelines. It is of key importance to work well with the operational teams as well as across the organisation.

Job Content:

  • Drive improvement projects in our aluminum extrusion and recycling operation.
  • Improve customer service and quality while lifting production efficiency.
  • Develop, implement, and train best practices in production.
  • Manage technical development projects on new processes, equipment, and products.
  • Ensure safety, health, and environment in all activities.
  • Liaise with other departments where required like quality planning and customer service.

Environment, Health & Safety:

  • Adhere to all PPE requirements.
  • Follow all Health, Safety, Security Environmental, Energy (HSSEE) process and regulations.
  • Report any HSE issues to Shift Manager
  • Be aware of First Aiders
  • Be aware of Health and Safety obligations.
  • Be aware of Fire evacuation procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and assist in housekeeping audits.
  • Contribution to reporting of IFE s.
  • Contribution to WOCs (Walk, Observe, Communicate)

Work Experience Required:

  • Manufacturing Environment
  • Hands on engineering experience
  • Experience from similar industries or maintenance is an advantage.

Education and Skills:

  • Engineering degree in Mechanics, Metallurgy, Chemistry or similar
  • Data driven and highly numerate and analytical.
  • Excellent Excel (macro, Formulas, Graphs), Access and PowerPoint skillset
  • Very good inter personnel skills in dealing with people in a changeling position.
  • Demonstrated pursuit of continual improvement
  • Knowledge of Aluminum and Extrusion an advantage. Metallurgy or Chemistry is a distinct advantage or engineering discipline.
  • Excellent communicator.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow up skills.
  • Good I.T skills and ERP system.
  • Demonstrated flexibility in approach to work demands.
  • Working to deadlines under demanding conditions
  • Driving licence and confidence to travel is desirable (cross site interaction will be necessary)
