PR & Communications Manager

Job Scope and Objectives

To manage, oversee and be responsible for all PR and communication related activity for Pirelli within the UK

Role Responsibilities

The main point of contact for PR and communications activity in the UK, this role will include but is not limited to the following:

  • Management and co-ordination of PR and communication / media related activity for the UK business
  • Liaise with Milan regarding Group lead communication initiatives
  • Management and co-ordination of UK based internal communications
  • Develop relationships with all functions in the UK business
  • To lead and be the focal point for the local community involving the Pirelli business
  • Work closely with PR support agencies to ensure the accuracy and quality of communication
  • Ensure all PR and communication is in line with Pirelli standards
  • Management of PR budget
  • To take the lead on all UK media coverage – Local, trade, automotive, motorsport and national
  • Establish, develop and maintain excellent relationships with media agencies / outlets
  • Management and co-ordination of special events facilitation

Required Qualifications and Aptitudes

Education

  • Degree level education in Communications / Media

Experience

  • Relevant experience within a large corporate environment
  • Experience of liaising with multiple agencies
  • Media relations experience at a local and national level

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Resilient in approach, whilst demonstrating tact and diplomacy
  • Copywriting
  • Negotiation / influencing skills
  • Able to establish, develop and maintain relationships with key media agencies
  • Fully flexible, able to meet deadlines and often at short notice, within a pressurised environment
  • A proven team player, dynamic and enthusiastic in outlook
  • Comfortable with adapting to and driving change
  • Must be prepared to travel, as and when required, both nationally and internationally
