PT Sports Cars (including PT Motorsport) are a busy and ambitious Caterham specialist, motor racing team and workshop facility. Our reputation is built on providing an excellent customer experience and service both at the track and in the workshop. We are currently 11 strong, with exciting plans for expansion and we’ve now grown to the point where we need another full time, experienced mechanic. Our key business lines are:

  • Race support (mainly Caterham but some other specialist marques)
  • Track day support (mainly Caterham but some other specialist marques)
  • Garage/workshop services for Caterham race, track and road cars
  • Car sales – road and track

About you

We carry out all levels of mechanical work on cars, from a simple oil and filter service to full suspension set-ups to building a new Caterham from kits. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have experience with Caterham’s, we can teach you that, but the successful applicant must:

  • Have a passion for sports cars and motor racing!
  • Be a team player - teamwork and a positive attitude is essential here
  • Have 3 years experience as a senior mechanic/vehicle technician
  • Have excellent attention to detail and constantly work to the highest standards
  • Be able to communicate with customers, explain the work we’ve done and suggest further improvements
  • Be conscientious in everything you do
  • Be able to work to your own initiative and without constant supervision
  • Be able to manage your cars as projects and keep track of work and what parts are needed
  • Have a full UK driving license (a trailer license is a nice extra too but not essential)

Please note: Race weekends can be long and demanding and we finish when the job is done – we can’t be clock watchers here so you need to have a flexible approach to hours.
