Key Responsibilities

  • Project management of product from initial design concept to production release
  • Develop CAD models/drawings of final components
  • Drawing verification
  • Reverse engineering/part digitizing
  • Write work instructions for manufacturing
  • Assist in the design of support tooling and fixtures
  • Primary contact for production related issues
  • Track and record projects
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations
  • Efficiently and effectively manage time
  • Interface with vendors
  • Instruct R&D Technicians during prototype development

Position Requirements
Essential (Must Have):

  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent technical writing skills
  • Computer operating systems, Microsoft Windows
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Minimum of 3 years using SolidWorks
  • Strong interest in working in fast paced environments
  • Ability to communicate in an understandable, polite and professional manner
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach and move about the facility
  • Must have the ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds
  • Must have the ability to function as part of a team
  • Must have the ability to listen to and follow written and verbal instruction
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with Team Members and Supervisors

Desirable:

  • Interest in Automotive / Motorsports Industry
  • Previous experience in new product development and manufacturing
  • Experience with FARO scanning
  • Understanding of Bill of Materials using Syspro
  • Understanding of CNC, lathe and mill operations
  • TIG and MIG welding experience

Education and/or Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering

Reports to: Director of Engineering

Internal Relationships:

  • Will interact with departmental personnel
  • May interact with multiple departments and personnel, including: Engineering Staff, R&D, and Production

External Relationships:

  • Vendors

  • Draftsmen

Physical Environment

  • The performance of this position normally requires exposure to typical manufacturing areas where under certain conditions, use of personal protective equipment is required
