Maintenance Technician/Operator

Maintenance Technician/Operator

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Provides direct support in multiple areas of the facility.
  • Support production needs and be proactive in preventive maintenance.
  • Inspecting, testing, calibrating, installing, fabricating, constructing, adjusting, lubricating, maintaining, dismantling and cleaning all mechanical equipment.
  • Locate sources of problems by troubleshooting mechanical devices in operation.
  • Control downtime by performing routine preventative maintenance requirements, daily inspections and monitoring of machines.
  • Safely performs assigned tasks competently and efficiently.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Read blue prints, operates vehicles, works from heights, and works in various environmental conditions.
  • Performs other duties as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma/GED is required. Associates Degree in Mechanical Technology and or/graduation from an acceptable Technical Training institution in a machinist or millwright-oriented program is preferred. Other mechanical technical education combined with a minimum of three years industrial mechanical maintenance experience in the past 10 years will be considered. Applicant must be willing to upgrade their knowledge and skills as new technology and methods are introduced, including attending training schools.
  • Demonstrated ability to locate LOTO procedures for specified equipment.
  • Working understanding of Quality and the importance of AS9100 and NADCAP accreditation.
  • Demonstrate a consistent safe work attitude.
  • Consistent participation in Safety Talks, and LOTO Audits.
  • Understand and perform the process we use to lock out a piece of equipment with the required steps to identify the Primary Authorized person and the verification of the equipment.

  • Understand the basic elements of 6S, how these elements affect productivity, safety and quality.
  • Expertise necessary to maintain hydraulic systems including pumps, valves, cylinders, rams, filtration and drive motors.
  • Safely remove/replace defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoist, cranes and hand/power tools.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lubricate all equipment as specified on routines and PMs.
  • Report observations of faulty equipment to area supervision and complete a Post PM.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in one or more production machines, being able to operate the basic function of the assets for repair or troubleshooting purposes.
  • Familiar with and proficient in the use of all portable hydraulic cylinders.
  • Fluid power and control for water systems and hydraulic systems. Understanding of componets used in both systems for control.
  • Knowledge of pipe system components (flanged and threaded connections) and the proper sealant choices for given services (high and low temperatures, water, oils, and gas).
  • Demonstrable skills in maintaining belt-driven equipment, aligning and tensioning.
  • Able to independently explain the NFPA70e Limited, Restricted and Prohibited Approach Boundaries in your words. Able to interpret and explain the information on the stickers on electrical panels.
  • Competent in the installation and removal of ball/roller bearings.
  • Describe the proper lubrication methods for grease, oil and hydraulics. Convey the understanding for cleanliness of the lubricants and the importance of viscosity.
  • Welding aptitude- demonstrate the proper use and proper welding results. Course will suffice as demonstrated use.
