Purpose of Role

Reporting to the Global Parts Operations Logistics Manager, this role has become available due to internal promotion. The Logistics Specialist has the responsibility to create, define and direct the Part Operations Logistics policy to our 4PL partner and throughout McLaren. They will be required to maximise our data to drive efficiency and deliver outcomes that support positive results in short time frames.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Work closely with our 4PL partner to achieve a best-in-class global delivery performance.
  • Define and measure meaningful KPIs and reports to manage performance.
  • Ongoing improvement of carrier performance
  • Implementing change to support OTIF performance
  • Enhance working practices and processes through continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate cross functionally to support and contribute to projects.
  • Create and maintain strong working relationships internally with other business areas and our 4PL partner.
  • Monitor claims and introduce initiatives to reduce damages.
  • Project manage new policy introduction and joint objectives with our 4PL partner.
  • Manage internal parts movements between business areas.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Strong 3PL / 4PL carrier management experience
  • Highly analytical - able to manage large data sets, draw appropriate conclusions & articulate findings.
  • Advanced MS Office skills essential (Excel, Word, Power-point)
  • Experience of using Power BI highly advantageous
  • Experience of using SAP highly advantageous
  • Knowledge of international freight advantageous but not essential
  • Must be able to work independently and have excellent communication skills at all levels of the organisation.
  • High confidence in directing others i.e. 4PL partner
  • Able to engage with and influence stakeholders at all levels.
