Role Overview

The Lead Counsel, Global Supply Chain will report to the Vice President, Legal – Commercial Transactions and primarily support a dynamic and experienced procurement team in cradle to grave activities related to automotive component procurement and management of strategic supplier relationships.  This position will grow and be responsible with senior leadership for hiring a team of attorneys to help Fisker reach its goal of bringing four new vehicles to market by 2025.

What You’ll Do

  • Work directly with the Procurement Team to close supply relationships by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating procurement agreements including development and supply agreements, terms and conditions, software and technology license agreements, SAAS agreements, service agreements and a variety of indirect supply agreements.
  • Proactively develop and drive strategic projects and initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and effectiveness of legal services and proactive risk management, including through new templates, trainings, and processes, contract standardization/automation initiatives, and building a legal playbook.
  • Work with internal clients to draft and implement company policies and procedures related to supply chain compliance programs such as FCPA, Dodd-Frank, US export controls, CA Prop 65, GPDR and CCPA, etc.
  • Prepare and conduct training for managers and employees on relevant legal topics.
  • Become an active part of Procurement leadership by building key relationships, responding promptly, and being proactive about guiding the business in a way that minimizes risk and maintains company goals.

Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school and admitted to practice in at least one US jurisdiction.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in automotive procurement roles.
  • A working knowledge of open source, data privacy laws, and compliance topics relevant to the supply chain.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.  Desire to directly negotiate agreements with counterparties.
  • Ability to work quickly and adapt in a fluid, fast paced environment.
  • Able to deal with ambiguity and develop creative and pragmatic solutions for complex and revolving issues in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to build positive and respectful relationships internally and externally and develop collaborative working relationships in a team environment.
