NJMP is currently hiring Landscape Manager
This a seasonal position, operating season is March through November. A fast paced position in an exciting environment of the New Jersey Motorsports Park maintaining a safe, clean and enjoyable experience for our guests, competitors, and associates. We are a service organization with a focus on guest satisfaction.
Purpose:
Oversee the overall property’s look through landscaping and maintaining grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment.
Primary Job Duties:
- Manages the grounds staff with facility and ground maintenance such as mowing, sweeping and trimming trees and shrubs, weeding and mulching, retention basin maintenance and securing/managing outside contractors if needed.
- Maintain and operate equipment such as but not limited to weed eaters, push movers, trimmers, zero turns, and tractors.
- Keeps accurate maintenance records of work done, inventory and purchasing of supplies needed to effectively manage the department and grounds. Manages expenses through knowledge of budget. May purchase supplies, tools and appliances with COO/President’s approval.
- Recommends upgrades and plantings as well as long and short term grounds and landscaping needs.
- Maintains, plans and implements preventative maintenance program and implements preventative maintenance procedures.
- Obtains bids for projects as authorized by the COO/President.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- HS Diploma or GED
- Supervisory experience
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time
- Ability to walk
- Ability push, pull, lift up to 75lbs
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
Work Setting:
- Outdoor working environment with the typical outdoor temperature fluctuations, sometimes extreme and exposed to all types of weather conditions.
- Working environment can be described as loud.
Position Requirements:

- Regular and predicable attendance
- Ability to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing
- Use common sense and good judgment
- Wear common protective or safety equipment
- Must have valid drivers license
