Human Resources Generalist

Job Description Summary

The human resource generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in supporting Air Lift Company’s business objectives. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: talent acquisition, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention, AA/EEO compliance, and labor relations; completing personnel transactions.

Essential Duties:

· Develop human resources solutions by collecting and analyzing information; recommending courses of action.

· Improve manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solution; coaching and counseling managers and employees.

· Identify qualified applicants that align with the company culture for open positions and facilitate the selection process.

· Enhance employee knowledge and productivity through effective delivery of training and development programs, such as new hire orientation, on-boarding, and other HR-related trainings.

· Complete special projects by clarifying project objective; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information; fulfilling transactions.

· Manage client expectations by communicating project status and issues; resolving concerns; analyzing time and cost issues.

· Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.

· Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.

· Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

· Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

· Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

· Reduce liability through clear guidance and application of HR policies, procedures and systems.

· Ensure company compliance with legal requirements and government regulations by providing relevant guidance to leaders and employees and through accurate completion of reporting requirements

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, or Organization Development; or equivalent combination of work experience and education
  • Four or more years of experience in human resources positions preferred
  • Proven Project Management skills are required
  • Experience assessing new HRIS software a bonus
  • HR experience supporting manufacturing a plus
  • Strategic thinker who can problem solve and make recommendations that are results-oriented.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work accurately and maintain close attention to detail
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness and initiative
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate strong ethical behavior
  • Must be able to pass reference check
  • Must be able to pass drug screen
  • Must have unrestricted right to work in the United States

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:

  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Self-Directed and goal oriented
  • SHRM –CP or SHRM-SCP certification
  • PHR or SPHR certification
