The largest outdoor Kart track in Sussex is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Mechanic to join our existing team.
As a Kart Mechanic you'll be responsible for the maintenance, servicing and performance of our fleet of petrol Sodi and Biz karts. You will be expected to keep the workshop safe and tidy at all times and you must ensure all targets and expectations are met.
Your job will be to make sure that the maximum number of karts are available at any given time, whilst working with another full time mechanic. This job will include servicing the karts and dealing with the daily wear and tear that will affect their performance on the track on a weekly basis.
You will be expected to test the Karts making sure they run to the highest standard and the fleet will always need to be within 1 second of each other. You will be expected to be on hand at any race event so please expect shifts to be between Monday – Sunday including daytime and evening.
Qualifications are not essential but we are looking for people with a minimum or 2-3 years mechanic experience
The Successful Candidate will:
- Have mechanical experience (at least 2yrs) within the corporate / race kart or Motorsport sectors.
- Be flexible and able to work evenings & weekends in addition to weekdays.
- Be able to follow instruction quickly and effectively.
- Be highly motivated and work well in a team.
- Have excellent communication skills.
- Ensure that the karts are maintained to the highest standards of safety.
- Be able to work unassisted and ensure all targets are met without fail.
- Have excellent problem solving abilities solving problems quickly and efficiently.
- Ensure all paperwork is kept up to date on a daily basis ensuring it is filled out correctly
- Full training will be given in all areas of the role
- Flexibility with working hours is essential to meet customer needs
- Own form of transport (this does not include getting a lift with parents)
