Role Overview

This role will report to the Electrical chief engineer in California. The Launch engineer will work onsite with our engineering partner (Magna) and their engineering and manufacturing teams to support the launch of the Fisker Ocean. This role will require demonstrated outstanding skills in analysis, critical thinking, root cause issue investigation, conflict management, and risk management. You will work across the organization and functions so cross functional working is a key requirement. 

This role requires exceptional communication and organizational skills. A successful candidate needs to thrive in a pressurized environment using data and facts to help identify risks, manage resources and solve problems quickly and effectively. A strong team ethic with the ability to interact at all levels and across business boundaries is required to be successful in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Electrical engineering and launch issues on behalf of Fisker in the manufacturing plant

  • Manage Electrical JIRA tickets and lead cross functional teams to resolve

  • Collate data and present where required Electrical status to senior team members

  • Responsible for signing off product changes affecting electrical engineering during the change management process

  • Undertake any other work as directed by the line manager in connection with the job

  • Support labcar and bench testing for electrical components during pre production phases

  • Support pre-production issues during build on site at Magna Steyr

Basic Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience

  • Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline. 

  • Ability to work well in an integrated collaborative team environment including daily interactions with technicians, engineers, and managers.

  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure, fast paced environment.

  • 5+ years experience in electrical engineering preferably with whole vehicle experience

  • Previous experience with BEV programme

  • Working knowledge of 6 Sigma or 8D problem solving methodologies 

  • Experience using JIRA for issue tracking and resolution

  • Experience with Teamcenter

  • English speaking and a good understanding of written and spoken English (German is an advantage)

  • Must be able to form strong working relationships both internally and with supplier partners

  • Knowledge of vehicle manufacturing and development processes, milestones and deliverables is an advantage

  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, use cases, standards and procedures.

  • Familiarity with tools such as Vector CANoe as well as ability to analyze and interpret test and diagnostic data from systems and vehicle.

  • Knowledge of vehicle electrical system, network architecture and vehicle functions

  • Experience with production diagnostic tools such as VCATS or DSA

Additional Requirements

Must be able to lift 25 lbs unassisted, bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run.

Must be willing to work overtime and on weekends where needed to meet deadlines and company goals.
