Role Overview :

  • Oversees the entire Production departments and technologies in body shop, paint shop and assembly
  • Disciplinary responsible for Production and Non-Production team member in department, including target setting and performance measurement
  • Maintains a high level of safety awareness and drives the safety activities
  • Responsible for safety, people, quality, processes, product, production, budget/cost and Lean Production System
  • Focuses on effective and efficient output
  • Focuses on existing recourse usage and plans for future resource requirements
  • Develops strategies for Production operations and sets goals and ensures that targets are met
  • Leads, develops, and coaches the team and the team member
  • Leads, manages, and develops team member to optimize Production System by assigning tasks, reviewing performance, coaching, etc.
  • Leads and develops team member in problem solving and improvements
  • Manages the Production operation investment and budget and monitors
  • Identifies, maintains and ensures target and project milestone achievements
  • Supports other areas/departments cross-functional and the service provider
  • Develops optimal and flexible production strategies to support quality and volume demands
  • Collaborates with all interface teams to ensure optimal output
  • Ensures alignment between internal contributors and with the suppliers
  • Acts as interface between Global Manufacturing and other cross functional teams
  • Coordinates tasks and deliverables with local and central organization (Engineering, QA, Planning, Supply Chain, etc.)
  • Regularly reports the onsite production and project status to HQ
  • Develops and implements risk mitigation strategies
  • Ensures that new project strategy and project start fulfills the business needs and is executed in time and quality
  • Coordinates resources, provides clear direction and timelines for deliverables, and delegates tasks across own team, regional team and global team
  • Assures process and product continuous improvement
  • Responsible for planning and realization vehicle and structure projects
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management
  • Flexible traveling domestic and international

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in engineering or manufacturing
  • 8+ years related professional experience including 6 years supervisory experience, preferably in an automotive or manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years management and leadership skills including budgeting, delegating, coaching
  • 5+ years knowledge of production, processes, product and concepts
  • 5+ years ability to effectively lead people, projects and find solutions to problems
  • 5+ years ability to clearly understand and communicate complex ideas and concepts
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office applications (MS-Project, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
  • Creative, energetic, self-motivated and highly organized and structured
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced company with focus on critical deadlines
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail skills with high level of initiative and sound judgement
  • Clear understanding for practical product development processes
  • Solid communication skills (verbal, written, presentation)
  • Professional English skills, German preferred
