Duties to be Performed:
• Design and develop new products including cylinder heads, intake manifolds, and other related automotive components. • Lead product development teams. • Assist with new product recommendations; help develop new products, identify product specifications, and prepare cost estimates. • Assist in defining appropriate material specifications for new products. • Optimize product design for durability, manufacturing, and cost while meeting established specifications. • Assist in the development of product evaluation tests and procedures. • Provide technical data and training for new products. • Develop and maintain engineering drawings. • Create bill of materials (BOMs) for new products. • Provide technical support for customer issues related to product design. • Assist with product improvement initiatives; work with Quality Assurance Department to improve quality of current products. • Other duties assigned as needed.
Skills and Abilities Needed:
• Working knowledge of internal combustion engines. • Proficient use of CAD, AutoCAD, and solid modeling software like Solid Works essential. • Strong mechanical aptitude. • Strong analytical and problem solving skills. • Strong mathematical skills; ability to perform geometric dimensioning and tolerance assessments. • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. • Effective time management skills. •Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. •Proficient in MS Office programs.
