Data Migration Analyst

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • For all systems, understand all “external” applications across all Business Applications Systems. External systems being those outside the subject application.
  • Plan and implement all new and revised integrations in line with BAU requirements, planned upgrades or projects / programmes
    • All integrations to have formal transition from test to live operation
    • Liaise with IT security for all planned integrations adhering to general design principles, protocols and security policy.
    • Procure and implement any new integration technology according to requirements and IT / project budgets.
  • Segregation of Master, reference and transactional data;
  • assessment of data quality;
  • management of risks associated with Data Migration; ownership of data extraction, transformation and migration activities;
  • management of data validation processes for migrated data;
  • identify data to be transitioned from Legacy systems to target system / application, defining the process and responsible for the data migration across all functional work streams; develop core data migration deliverables and technical assets and support the testing throughout the data migration test cycles
  • Create and keep up to date all documents for all integrations.
  • Act as 2nd / 3rd level support for Group Lotus Systems integrations as included in all support plans.
  • Work with external technical teams to deliver optimum solutions for integrations between Lotus or Lotus and external systems.
  • Work with chosen vendor and existing Legacy system support teams to deliver a data migration strategy to support SAP ERP deployment
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for migrations of data between legacy and new systems
  • Train IT Lead Engineer and BASIS engineer for all common tasks integrations.
  • Have knowledge of common Business Applications (eg SAP, Oracle, Doc Mgmt, BI etc)

Qualifications and Experience 

Vocational/Academic Qualifications

Essential:

  • Educated to degree level
  • At least 2 years working with relational databases & business applications. E.g. MS SQL, Oracle, Access
  • Extensice use of SQL/ETL/Query extracting data for business reporting/use

Desirable:

  • BSc Degree or Equivalent
  • MS SQL Server 2008 r2
  • Oracle 7.3.4 or above
  • DTS package tools
  • Crystal Reports 

Professional/Specialised/ Technical Knowledge and Experience

Essential:

  • MS SSIS & SSRS
  • Experience in running data migration in major projects
  • Understanding of Data modelling
  • Fluent English spoken and written
  • Advanced PC skills (Office)

Desirable:

  • Working knowledge of ERP applications & associated interplay between business transactions.
  • Experience in SAP End to End Data Migration projects involving migration of data objects from multiple ERP/source systems

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for physical migration (and steps to get there) of data between applications.

Full life cycle experience of the data migration process, from strategy and planning, through to execution and go-live. 

Develop ETL (Export, Transform & Load) routines in support of the Digital Transformation of Group Lotus to achieve a leading position within the automotive market.

Provide SME & 3rd level support to BAU team for migrations and interfaces.
