Chassis Controls Test Leader

The Role

As the Chassis Controls Test Leader, you will be the hands-on owner of the overall component test infrastructure and methodology, including HIL and SIL. You will work with and expand existing infrastructure to when possible, and implement new solutions when required. You will also develop an efficient and complete plan for automated component testing, and will work with other Tesla teams to verify and validate system function.

 

Responsibilities

• Own and continually develop/improve component-level test HW and SW infrastructure

• Work with development and systems teams to understand test needs

• Build infrastructure development roadmap based on current and future needs

• Lead creation/acquisition/deployment of tester HW and SW

• Implement and automate new tester functionality as required

• Analyze workload to design right-sized team 

• Aid management in candidate selection and hiring

Requirements

• BS or higher degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar field; or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability

• Extensive, professional experience in HIL and SIL testing

• Experience with C/C++ and at least one common scripting language (Python, Perl, Shell)

• Understanding of vehicle dynamics and chassis components

• Meticulous, methodical and thorough

• Self-directing and independent; capable of prioritizing work

• Desire to develop, manage and execute work plans
