Role Overview:

We are seeking a leader to oversee Fisker’s compensation strategy and planning as well as build our workforce analytics functions from the ground up. This position will play a critical role in all aspects of Fisker’s people strategy from recruitment to retention and requires a compensation strategist and operator who understands benchmarking, pay practices, and connecting compensation to organizational needs. The Associate Director, Compensation & Total Rewards will support in the planning, development and implementation of new and revised Compensation and Pay programs, policies, and procedures to align with the company's goals and competitive practices. This position is also responsible for ensuring that company total rewards programs are consistently and fairly administered in alignment with internal objectives and external government regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the development, implementation and administration of compensation programs including company-wide benchmarking process across technical, non-technical, and retails functions

  • Perform deep analysis on effectiveness and competitiveness of existing compensation programs and model potential impact of alternatives

  • Develop creative compensation solutions that are designed around corporate objectives and informed by market trends

  • Conduct job evaluations using market data and internal evaluation and regularly analyze our market position on jobs

  • Review the mix of total rewards programs offered to employees and assess their effectiveness; make recommendations to vary offerings based on current best practices.

  • Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommends changes that are cost-effective and consistent with industry benchmarking and our business goals

  • Provides advice to leadership on pay decisions, policy interpretations, and job evaluations

  • Designs creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs and incentive plans

  • Oversees the participation in salary surveys that are right for Fisker and monitors salary survey data

  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations

  • Identify, recommend, plan, and implement new or modified benefits programs and employee rewards that are aligned with supporting the company strategy and culture

  • Projects may include annual merit and bonus processes, global pay range and geographic differential pay review, benefits harmonization initiatives, and compensation and benefit tool selection/development/implementation

  • Design and manage Fisker’s people reporting framework, including our strategy, and tooling approach

  • Partner across HR to provide workforce insights related to attrition, acceptance rate, quality of hire, diversity, etc.

  • FLSA Classification for Non-exempt and Exempt employees

  • Advises Human Resources Business Partners and business leaders on total rewards decisions and strategies

  • Support in the design, communication, and management of all elements of base pay, including pay structures (job families, job descriptions, job codes, grade ranges, and rates)

  • Conducts internal equity reviews, merit and market reviews, and adjustment methodology

  • Lead, develop and mentor a high performing team that is results oriented and delivers exceptional customer service

Job Specification:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, Business, Finance, Economics, or other quantitative discipline required

  • Master’s degree in HR, Labor Relations, or related field is a plus

  • Compensation Analysis within the Automotive/OEM/EV Start up domain is highly desired.

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant and progressive experience in compensation preferred.

  • 8+ years of compensation management experience including benchmarking responsibility and a proven track record of executing significant compensation projects and processes 

  • Knowledge of laws and regulations as they apply to base compensation and incentive compensation programs, company policies, and operations

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Competencies

  • CCP certification strongly preferred

  • Knowledge of all federal, state, and local regulations and compliance requirements related to employee compensation.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data.

  • Solutions-oriented with a proactive approach toward problem-solving

  • Experience with equity-based compensation and providing education on equity compensation

  • Knowledge of laws and regulations as they apply to base compensation and incentive compensation programs, company policies, and operations

  • Extremely professional written/verbal communication skills, with high attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment with all levels of employees in the organization

  • Experience in dealing with senior management
