Assembly Operator - C1 RDM 2nd

About The Opportunity

To work in a team environment to assemble components, evaluates axles/or transmissions to meet customers' quality standards and delivery schedules.

Key Responsibilities

Perform specific procedures on equipment safety in cell/line/dept./plant

Prefer manufacturing or assembly experience (minimum 3 months).

Act to meet Cell, Department and Plant goals

Diversified mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly or sub-assembly of units that are moderately complex, requiring adjusting, fitting and aligning to ordinary tolerances

Participate to define 5S/TPM activities

Perform 5S/TPM Audits -if applicable

Perform changeover and set up reductions-if applicable

Perform error proofing, generate ideas and aid development-if applicable

Identify methods to enhance and share team knowledge

Lead department/ plant meetings and discussions

Participate in team meetings

Promote a teamwork environment

Support team (active and constructive role)

Understand dept. responsibilities and roles

Works from standardized work instructions and control plans

May rotate stations and lines

Understand and support Lock out/Tag out principles

Perform daily safety audits-if applicable

Perform specific procedures on equipment safety in cell/line/dept./plant

Report safety issues

Wear personal protective equipment

Understand and utilize all Cell/Station Quality documentation

Calibrate and Master gages and understand gaging qualification requirement

Verify and document error proofing per schedule

Report Quality issues promptly and assist in clean point creation

Keep station and fixtures/tools clean and organized at all times

Perform changeover and set up reductions-if applicable

Generate ideas and aid development-if applicable

Qualifications / Experience / Skills

Basic Literacy and Numerical Skills.

Good motor skills, hand dexterity, ability to stand for long periods, walk, stoop, kneel and move/push +40 lbs and good or corrected vision and hearing.

High School Diploma or GED

Career Readiness Certificate – GOLD, SILVER or BRONZE level required (except for internal candidates)
