Apprenticeship Opportunities - Landscaping/Grounds - 2021

Williams are recruiting for an exciting apprentice opportunity in our Facilities team.

We are looking for enthusiastic individual who have a passion for landscaping, along with the confidence, belief and determination to succeed in a company that offers variety, interest and responsibility with great prospects for the future.

As an Apprentice within our Facilities teams, you’ll play a role in presenting and maintaining the highest standards of appearance in all aspects of the factory site, grounds and gardens always. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking all grounds maintenance, including routine activities, in a timely manner as instructed by the Head Groundsman or Facilities Manager. This includes seasonal maintenance will include grass cutting, leaf clearing, salt gritting and removing snow during in winter months. The individual will also be responsible for the safe operation of machinery and equipment across the site.

This is a two-year Apprenticeship plan where you will initially complete an Horticulture Operative Level 2 apprenticeship. This is a two-year Apprenticeship where you will attend Abingdon and Witney College. As part of your first-year training you will attend Abingdon and Witney college full time with some keep in touch days held here at Williams Racing. At the end of your first year at college you will then return and do block release to attend college, at this stage in some areas you will be expected to become part of the teams shift pattern which we will give you more information about in the interview process.

We are interested in applicants from a variety of backgrounds, who are committed to pursuing vocational qualifications in engineering. A minimum 5 GCSE’s at grade C or above is required including Maths and English. A keen interest in Horticulture, Landscaping and Gardening is vital to be successful in this position so please do advise on your CV of any hobbies or extracurricular activities which would help support your application. Throughout the duration of the apprenticeship, you will receive support accordingly; this is including regular performance evaluations with the nominated manager to aid professional and personal development. Successful applicants will be able to communicate effectively, have a positive attitude to work and a mature outlook. A flexible attitude to work and hours is essential, as well as being a good team player.
